Company brand affects more than
just customers. However, some business owners tend to view it as an isolated
factor and remove it from their employees. How marketing and HR teams work
together to build a brand. The understands the importance of employee engagement
to the employer brand and wants to help get the most out of marketing
campaigns. There are many benefits to combining HR and marketing functions in
brand building.
Just as organizations compete for
customers by differentiating product value, they must also compete for talent
by differentiating employee experience. A key part of this differentiation is
employer brand – your organization’s story, the message it conveys about its
reason for existence, purpose, and vision. Employer branding helps turn company
culture into reality.
As aware the employer brand is
more critical and can't bear with only the HR department, the marketing
department also should play the perfect role in promoting the employer brand.
Therefore, partnering of the HR
& Marketing departments plays the below-mentioned function in the
organization.
1. Creating the multimedia and
multichannel
HR professionals know the talent
of the required employee. Marketer knows which channels need to work out. As
discussed both parties do the employer branding effectively.
Eg :LinkedIn: Optimize your company page, post job openings and engage with potential candidates.
Facebook and Instagram: Share
employee stories, company updates, and job openings.
Twitter: Use relevant hashtags,
follow industry influencers, and join the conversation.
Content Calendar: Plan and
schedule your social media posts for consistency.
2. Build the person
A marketing person knows how to
define what the product or service brings to life by identifying potential
customer needs. However, HR professionals know what key talents they want to
attract as candidates. By considering both synergies including marketing and HR
linked together as "How do differentiate from the competition and "
How do we engage the talent for organization".(Samdahl,2019)
3. Helping with storytelling
The most influential measure of
employer brand effectiveness is the ability of employees to communicate the
brand. Additionally, brand messaging should be consistent across employees,
talent acquisition, and marketing. Marketing must play a central role in
managing the message, and it can also help identify and communicate the right
story.
4. Training & Development
Most marketing employees are
working outside of the company. Therefore HR professionals can design training
programs, workshops, seminars, and training sessions for marketing teams to
enhance the team skills and enhance the employer branding activities as well.
5. Get Involving the Stakeholders
Obtain commitment from key
stakeholders. Getting your leadership team to invest in your employer brand is
more than just setting up a committee where people can express their opinions.
It’s also important for every leader to understand the power of their employer
brand as a key influencer of brand image and reputation. Leadership needs to be
involved from the beginning. This upfront work will help you and your marketing
team quickly align and understand the project from start to finish.

Marketing wins together
HR and marketing are not
accustomed to collaborating on strategic initiatives, especially those that are
HR-driven. However not involving marketing in the project can be a mistake.
Marketing owns the brand and needs to take them on the journey with it. Marketing
will be happy to be asked to participate, and HR can save time and anxiety by
getting them involved from the start.
Top talent gets to choose the
company they work for. Access to information and opportunities has accelerated
the creation of a new employer branding rulebook, and companies are constantly
learning to adapt recruitment, retention, and engagement strategies and
practices to succeed. By coordinating these efforts with HR and marketing,
businesses will benefit in terms of attracting talent and their "fit"
to the company.

Through a coordinated effort, they can create a strong and unified brand image,
attract top talent, and increase customer engagement. When these two important

As an HR professional, I see
employer branding as a connected process within the company. HR plays a crucial
role in attracting potential candidates from the competitive market by
highlighting factors like salary, working culture, welfare schemes, corporate
events, social activities, and sustainability initiatives to attract the best
employees. The marketing team motivates these factors to gain advantages and
attract customers. When customers are drawn in by the marketing efforts and
associate positively with the brand, it also enhances the attractiveness of the
company to potential candidates.
Nowadays, many companies
prioritize employer branding and even have dedicated roles like 'Employer
Branding Specialist.' This is crucial for enhancing the company's brand. Social
media is commonly used for this purpose. However, professionals and employers
need to be mindful of the positive impact of employer branding on social media.
A damaged company brand image can quickly go viral on social platforms,
underscoring the importance of careful management. Eg: The recent incident of
the McDonald's case has been viral worldwide on social media.
